The inflation figures from today freaked a lot of people out.
Inflation is up 2.2 per cent of the September 2021 quarter, the highest individual increase since 1987.
Predictions were more around the 1.8 per cent mark.
Founder and director of enable.me Hannah McQueen told Andrew Dickens she wasn't surprised it was this high, even with the economists’ predictions.
“We’ve got a problem and the problem really is gonna impact people with debt, mortgages and those who are retiring. They're the ones who are going to feel the impact of this inflation a lot more than, say the day to day spending.”
