British Police have announced a breakthrough in the cold case of Madeliene McCann, who went missing in 2007 while on holiday with her parents in Portugal.

Officers revealed a German 43-year-old paedophile currently in jail for sex offences is the new prime suspect.

UK correspondent Enda Brady told Heather du Plessis-Allan despite what Nine News journalist Mark Saunokonoko believes he does not think the new suspect is a 'scape goat'.

"The British Police have wanted to just find Madeliene from day one, genuinely I don't think they're in anyway interested in a scape goat."

Meanwhile, Mr Brady found himself in the thick of Black Lives Matter protests in London.

While engaging in a peaceful protest in Lewisham, Mr Brady attended one in Westminster after getting a tip things were kicking off.

He said as the sun set, protestors got violent.

"It was deeply unpleasant, I put some footage up on Twitter last night and I've just woken up and checked my comments, and apparently it's the media's fault that we're being attacked."
