Special adviser to the British Primer Minister Dominic Cummings has landed himself in hot waterÂ
Cummings has insisted he would not resign from his position after driving the length of England, while the country was under strict lockdown — a trip he made without informing the prime minister first.
The Government is set to cop a fair amount of backlash from other politicians and the public. Cummings travelled over 400 kilometres from London to his parents' home in Durham at the end of March.
Cummings says since he and his wife had Covid-19 symptoms, they wanted to pass on their four-year-old soon to family in case they fell ill and could not care for him.
He says the three of them stayed in isolation in a building on his father's farm.
UK correspondent Enda Brady told Andrew Dickens despite Cummings not being an elected representative, a press conference was held at Downing Street.
Brady says the public are both humoured and livid.
