Questions remain over David Hisco departure from ANZ

There are plenty more questions emerging about the departure of David Hisco from ANZ.

There are calls for a Royal Commission of Inquiry and for Sir John Key to step down as chair of the bank.

Hisco left the job yesterday, after the bank revealed he'd been characterising personal expenses as business costs for the nine years he led the company.

David Tripe is a banking specialist at Massey University. He told Heather du Plessis-Allan ANZ isn’t the first bank to find themselves to fall foul of the reserve bank.

“We have seen both Westpac and ASB have issues with their capital modelling over the last few years as well.”

Tripe believes the problem with David Hisco doesn’t have a lot to with the NZ bank, but more to do with the parent bank in Australia.
