Conspiracy theorists trying to make a point on Youtube are going to find it harder to get their views across.
Google has decided to tweak its algorithm on Youtube in a bid to thwart the spread of potentially "harmful" content.
For example, those wanting  to search for a 9/11 video will have to scroll a long way before you find a clip claiming the attacks were an inside job.
Senior lecturer in philosophy at the Australian National University Colin Klein says that the change comes after an algoritihim change last year saw the conspiracy theory videos get more prominence.
He says that overall it is a good move. However, Klein told Larry Williams, it raises the possibility that Google could weed out other recommendations.
"There is a slippery slope concern. If Google does this for conspiracy theory videos, why not do it for Labour-National videos?"
He says that move now likens conspiracy theories to other sorts of dangerous content filtered out by YouTube, such as pornography.Â
