NASA considering sponsorship to help fund programme

Can you imagine a space rocket with a full blown image advertising a fast food chain or a drink?

The US space agency NASA is looking at new ways to raise money, and one of the options is selling naming rights to its rockets, or allowing astronauts to appear in commercials.

Auckland University marketing expert Bodo Lang told Larry Williams that it is a potential great idea for the markets

“One of the downsides, in my opinion, is obviously the heyday of many, many millions of people watching rocket launches are well and truly gone. I’m not sure how many eyeballs they are going to catch.”
