Migration won't likely return to pre-Covid levels when the borders reopen.

Immigration Minister Kris Faafoi is telling businesses who've relied on migrant workers in the past to have a re-think.

The Government wants to prioritise upskilling New Zealanders.

Apples and Pears' Allan Pollard told Heather Du Plessis-Allan he doesn't expect this to impact the number of RSE workers coming in.

He says they believe the Minister is just ensuring businesses have the right balance between a New Zealand and a migrant workforce.
