Auckland Marathon is expecting around 15,000 runners for this years race.
Director Adam McDonald told Heather du Plessis-Allan this will be one of the biggest events in Aotearoa since Covid-19 began.
He says they have always had a contingency plan in case the Harbour Bridge was shut.
"It's great to get the call this week to let us know it's going to be back at full capacity. Driving across it yesterday, I did have a sigh of relief."
The change in Covid-19 restrictions has also had an impact, with mass gatherings now allowed from 11:59pm tonight.Â
The event will take place on Sunday November 1st.Â
