The Act Party are one of the big winners in the latest TVNZ Colmar-Brunton poll.
The party rated at 5 per cent, its highest polling in 17 years, which would give them six seats if the election was today.
Party leader David Seymour told Heather du Plessis-Allan he is not getting ahead of himself.
"It's just one poll, there's seven weeks to go. Ultimately people want to process some pretty big issues, the world just change our country's got to change with it."
Mr Seymour reckons the election is far tighter than what the public believes.
"I think the Greens are gone, they always score lower on the day than they poll because it's much cooler to say you're going to vote Green than actually do it. New Zealand First clearly toast, and that brings you down to a drag race with Act slash National and Labour."
He adds they have a great chance at winning.
"For people who appreciate the way that Act has conducted itself, I think we can some really good balance to an Act-National Government."Â
