The Mayor of Upper Hutt says people returning from overseas will benefit the country.
Thousands of New Zealanders are still flocking home from overseas because of Covid-19, which is putting pressure on quarantine facilities.
Projected arrival figures show the Ministry of Health has only three days to find a hundred more beds.
Upper Hutt Mayor, Wayne Guppy, told Tim Dower these people are going to come home with skills, and will invest and be part of the community.
He says the people of Wellington are going to welcome them.
Guppy says they should isolate in the capital and stay there because the community wants them.
