New research reveals elderly people increase their risk of falling and breaking bones if they are taking multiple high-risk medications
Elderly people taking high-risk pain medications are twice as likely to fall and break bones, with up to a third dying within a year of being injured, according to research from Otago University.
Age Concern chief executive Stephanie Clare told Kate Hawkesby they are hoping to make a difference from the findings of the report.
"It is very concerning, but it is a wonderful opportunity to learn from this new research"
