Two companies will be vying for the right to hire out e-scooters in the capital.
Wellington City Council has given the green light for a six-month trial, meaning up to 800 electric scooters will be on the streets.
Councillor Chris Calvi-Freeman told Kate Hawkesby he isn't sure which companies will take part, but says Lime is in other cities, and Flamingo came and presented yesterday.
"It was a good way to play them off against each [and] see which one manages the operation better."Â
Calvi-Freeman said it will take several months to come up with preferred operators, then a little while to get the scooters in place.
