Relief from a tourism body that the China-New Zealand event is back on.

The launch of the China-New Zealand Year of Tourism was postponed amid fears the bilateral relationship had soured over the Huawei [wa way] issue.

The Prime Minister says it'll happen later this month and denies there was ever any issue with China.

Tourism Export Council chief executive, Judy Chen, told Kate Hawkesby she's not seen any change in the relationship either.

"We do have to take it at that and now a month down the track it's back on the cards so it's great to see."
