The proposed counter-terrorism bill is gathering more support, with experts saying the proactive approach is necessary.
The Justice Minister has introduced a new Bill which will monitor the activities of Kiwis returning from war zones, such as former ISIS fighter Mark Taylor.
Former intelligence analyst Paul Buchanan told Kate Hawkesby the government is right to put measures in place to de-radicalise these people.
"The issue is not just Mark Taylor, there are far more dangerous New Zealanders in the Middle East, and that's what the government is worried about."
