New Zealanders have a lot of trust in the public sector.
The latest State Services Commission survey has found trust is higher than it's ever been before.
Victoria University public management expert Michael Macauley told Kate Hawkesby that's a sign that the public service is being consistent in the service it provides.
"You get treated roughly the same by different people even if its part of the same service, so every time you go they will be treating you the same way and you think you are being treated fairly and consistently."
Building permits, resource consents and noise complaints are the only areas where we don't trust central or local government.
