Making five dinners for a family of six on just $60 is in the too-hard-basket for many households.

Now it can be done thanks to the zero-waste cookbook with recipes for families feeling the Covid-19 fallout.

West Auckland Together Collective's Lynette Adams told Kate Hawkesby Easy Choice Family Kai is a great little booklet for families on low incomes.

She says there are shopping tips and recipes including suggestions like using all parts of broccoli - including the stalk.

Adams says the recipes were originally put online - but there is a digital divide and not every family can access them.
