The benefits of having older employees in the workplace has been highlighted in new research.

Recruitment firm Randstad says more and more businesses are embracing age diversity.

The company's New Zealand director, Katherine Swan, told Kate Hawkesby older workers offer a wealth of knowledge.

"There are workplaces with up to four to five generations working together. Their teams are better engaged and bringing better outcomes for their organisations."
