A united call to the Government, to scrap the system of short-term residential tenancies.
Unions and Christian charities are calling on the Government to replace our current rental laws, with long-term secure tenancies and higher minimum housing standards.
They are backing a new blueprint from advocacy group Renters United.
Group spokeswoman Kate Day told Tim Dower many renters live in constant limbo, knowing they can be kicked out of their homes with just 90 days notice.
"That just creates uncertainty in their lives, you know, they are afraid to put down roots in their communities, afraid to make gardens, we want to allow renters to make their houses a home by making really stable tenancies."
