Jacinda Ardern is picking out housing as a major theme for her second term in government.
The Prime Minister has been discussing her agenda for the year, at Labour's first caucus meeting of the year in Nelson.
Herald political reporter Jason Walls has been there.
He told Kate Hawkesby Ardern has set the ball rolling on a series of announcements, based on a two-pronged approach.
"The prime minister's attacking both the demand side and the supply side, but isn't clear on detail at this stage."
Walls says while Covid-19 remains the Government's main focus, Ardern is also promising major housing announcements to address the housing crisis.
"The Finance Minister's expected to make an announcement next month dealing with the demand side of the things, while the May Budget will deal with the supply side."
