The ACT Party's new tourism policy could hold up.
It proposes letting high value tourists into the country under new, privately run quarantine systems.
ACT leader David Seymour announced the policy at an event at the Te Anau Club last night, calling for privately run managed isolation facilities, and allowing rich foreigners to pay to use them for a New Zealand holiday.
Tourism Holdings boss Grant Webster told Kate Hawkesby it makes sense from a tourism perspective.
“They have the capability to deliver to it, and if people are prepared to pay, then why not?”
