The tech sector is being urged to do far more to address gender bias across the industry.

New research by MYOB has found almost half of the tech industry's female leaders have experienced gender bias in the workplace.

Only 25 per cent of local tech firms have equal presentation in leadership teams.

MYOB New Zealand manager Ingrid Cronin-Knight told Kate Hawkesby the industry needs to up its game.

"What the report shows is quite shocking, there are only one in 10 companies that actually have a policy around anti-discrimination."
