The British Government are hoping to relax their 14-day quarantine laws.

From Monday people entering the United Kingdom are subjected to a 14-day quarantine period, and could be hit with hefty fines should they break such rules.

UK correspondent Gavin Grey told Kate Hawkesby people are finding holes in the Government's current quarantine laws.

"We can go to the Republic of Ireland and then come to the UK for instance, or of course many of those who have been told to self-isolate will probably leave the airport, get on a train packed with other people and then go and self isolate."

Mr Grey said businesses are pleading for the travel industry to start-up again.

"What they're now suggesting is that they may well be so-called air bridges.

"The UK could look at other countries across Europe and think 'Yeah they've got a similar record to us in terms of dealing with this and we should have an air bridge'."
