Britain could drop the salary threshold for migrants, under immigration reforms being unveiled on Friday.

The BBC is reporting the cut off could fall from 30,000 pounds - to around 25,600.

There could also be exceptions for sectors with skills shortages.

Gavin Grey told Kate Hawkesby that this could be of benefit to multiple country residents - including New Zealanders.

"It will be easier for people to come in, and workers from the EU are going to face the very same rules once the transition period is finished at the end of December." 

He says that the United Kingdom is likely going to transition towards a points-based system similar to Australia.
