Four of our brightest science academics have received an internship with NASA.
It's part of the New Zealand space scholarship with one astrophysicist calling it life-changing for those accepted.
Auckland University astrophysicist, JJ Eldridge told Kate Hawkesby they get to spend 10 weeks there.
"If you look at the projects that the students are going to do, they are actually interesting and amazingly diverse and they are going to learn so much."
Eldridge says it's also about the experiences and contacts they will make.
