Two American politicians are going against the grain to run a more civil election campaign.
While presidential contenders Donald Trump and Joe Biden have been trading insults, the two candidates for Utah Governor have released a joint ad, where they discuss what they agree on.
Democratic candidate Chris Peterson told Kate Hawkesby social media has encouraged people to believe the worst in their opponent.
“Although we disagreements on policy , people need to remember their common humanity during the electoral process.”
Peterson says it's important for politicians in the United States to realise their shared values, like civility and kindness.
“We should also be emphasising a peaceful transfer of power following an election."
