Good news for first home buyers as confidence levels creep up again.
ASB's quarterly housing confidence survey shows nine-percent of the population believes now is a good time to buy a house.
It's the highest level since 2013.
OneRoof property commentator Ashley Church told Kate Hawkesby stable house prices in Auckland and Canterbury are ideal factors for some buyers.
"The group I think is most likely to be affected by this is first home buyers, who are less more concerned about capital growth and the future and are more concerned about just getting into the market."
He says it shows attitudes are changing.
"This is about saying the sky's not going to fall and hit the housing market, this is just an indication that people are not as concerned as they were."
