Republicans confident they will maintain majority in Midterms

Democrats may be hopefully today's midterm results will let them take back the House of Representatives but Republicans aren't worried.

Midterm elections are the general elections held in November every four years, near the midpoint (midterm) of a president's four-year term of office.

Today is being billed as a national referendum on Trump's performance after two years as President.

Chair and Co-Founder of Women for Trump Amy Kremer told Kate Hawkesby she doesn't think Republicans will lose the majority.

"I think we may lose some seats but I think we will maintain control of the house and will actually gain some seats in the Senate."

She said the crowds arriving to vote are "like nothing we've ever seen before".

"There was a line of 50 people this morning at 10-minutes-six and the polls didn't open until seven."

Kremer said the reason she supports Donald Trump is because "he has followed through on things he's campaigned on".

"It's promises made, promises kept. That's something we are not used to see regardless of party, what we see happen normally is politicians campaign one way and then govern another way. The American people are tired of it."

"Feelings, emotions aside numbers don't lie. The facts are the facts, and the economic news that came out on Sunday was amazing."
