The Government says commuter rail from Rolleston to Christchurch is still on the table despite being missed in the latest infrastructure spend.
Labour campaigned on the promise of $100 million for a train between the city and rapidly growing town.
Yesterday, Rolleston was allocated $60 million for an over-bridge between its residential and industrial zones
But Christchurch Regeneration Minister Megan Woods told Chris Lynch that doesn't mean the train's been scrapped.
Woods says NZTA has already put money towards the project.
