On the anniversary of the September earthquake a Christchurch family is celebrating their daughter's birthday and reflecting on the traumatic way she came into the world.
It's nine years today since the 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit, causing significant damage.
Stephany Fox told Chris Lynch she was in labour with her daughter Keiana when things started shaking just after 4.30 in the morning.
She says when the quake struck she was having a bath during contractions in her home and thought she was hallucinating, but then saw the water rocking and leapt out of the bath.
Fox says they almost lost Keiana due to the stress of the situation and she was born with some major medical complications from the birth. However she is now a happy, vibrant girl who is the life of the party.
