Locals in Linwood, Bromley and Woolston are kicking up a stink with Environment Canterbury.
A mystery stench is wafting across the Christchurch suburbs, with fingers pointed at the estuary, organics plant and local businesses.
Linwood Councillor Yani Johanson says hundreds have complained but their protests have been falling on deaf ears.
He told Chris Lynch the smell has been lingering for the past decade
"On a scale of one to five the smell might be a two or three, but it's everyday and especially bad in summer.
"Phillipstown School has been having a real issue with what was happening next door to it, and Bromley School had to be closed down for a few days because of something which was discharged into the air."
The smell has been around for a decade and most likely coming from the organics plant.
