One of the first people to walk on the re-opened Cape Kidnappers beach has had to flee another landslide.
Hastings District Council re-opened the beach yesterday with signs warning of the risk. It comes after the beach was closed in January, after two tourists were seriously injured in a huge slip.
Daniele Bonancini told Hawke's Bay Today that he went to see if he could see the earlier slip, but before he reached it, he saw a small landslide coming down.

As well as the falling rocks, he could see signs of another recent slip, and turned back
The council planned to re-open the beach in April, despite opposition from Mayor Sandra Hazlehurst, but those plans were ditched after another landslide at Easter.
A risk analysis is due to be completed by October.
