Olympic bronze medallist Eliza McCartney has cleared her best ever height of 4.90 metres at the Vertical Pursuit in Auckland.
The jump was eight centimetres higher than her previous best (4.82m), which she cleared at the Auckland Track Challenge last year.
However, it will not count as a New Zealand record - which she holds - because the facilities at the outdoor event outside Sky City Casino didn't meet international standards.
McCartney later attempted 5 metres but couldn't clear it after three tries.
The 21-year-old won the event with ease, with second place going to USA's Morgann Leleux, who cleared 4.35m.
McCartney will compete at the Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, which starts next month.
