A petition asking for an inquiry into the allegations in the Hit and Run book heads to Parliament today.
The book published early last year alleges there were civilian casualties at the hands of Kiwi soldiers in Afghanistan, and further evidence released since then suggests a child was killed.
Labour called for an inquiry from Opposition.
In response to questioning as to whether this Government would fulfil the wishes of the 3,000 New Zealanders who've signed this petition, Attorney General David Parker asked for a bit more time.
"We are closer to making a decision on that. I said a week ago a month, so within the next three weeks or so."
