The Greens are talking up the amount of young talent in the party, as delegates gather for this weekend's pre-election AGM.

The party has made rejuvenation a focus of its list, and co-leader James Shaw said so far it's been paying off.

"As I travel round the country, people do come up to me - even people who don't actually support the Green Party come up and go, 'Boy, you guys have got some real talent coming through."

Two policy announcements are expected on both days of this weekend's conference.

After a week of disputes with New Zealand First they'll no doubt be looking to shift the focus to their plans in government.

Co-leaders James Shaw and Metiria Turei will both address crowds in Auckland at the two-day event.

Mr Shaw will deliver a policy speech on Saturday after a preview of the election campaign collateral, while Ms Turei will give her policy speech on Sunday.

There's no indication yet of what they might reveal.

The party will also hold three information sessions that are open only to party members.

New Zealand First is also gathering this weekend, for a convention in Auckland.

Party leader Winston Peters said it's the most important convention members and candidates will ever attend.

He said the current election campaign represents a sea change for New Zealand First.

"This is a launch for us to the second part of our campaign - the first was our campaign for the regions, and now we're going to campaign for the rest of heartland New Zealand as well."
