A West Coast man is denying accusations he killed a baby.
A 10-month-old Hokitika baby died three weeks ago, after being air-lifted to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries.
Name suppression has been lifted for 30-year-old David Grant Sinclair.
He has pleaded not guilty to one charge of murder.
Sinclair appeared at the High Court in Christchurch via videolink this morning and elected for trial by jury.
Justice Gerald Nation remanded the man in custody until a case review hearing at the end of September.
He indicated a trial will be held in June next year.
