It's unclear how much of a tourism boost Joseph Parker's heavyweight title bid will create.
Parker will fight Andy Ruiz on December 10th, and Ruiz's promoter's let slip that the fight will be in Auckland.
Tourism Industry Association boss Chris Roberts said big events are always good for tourism, but it's very hard to know how many overseas visitors will fly in for the fight.
"This is in the nature of a Bruce Springsteen rock concert or an All Blacks test, so it does attract people to the event," Roberts said.
But it's not on the same scale as the Rugby World Cup.
"Well it's the biggest boxing event ever held in New Zealand but it's not the biggest. On the world scale it's just another boxing event."
Mr Roberts believes the fights will attract a lot of New Zealanders to Auckland, and provide worldwide media exposure.
Independent rankings, according to Boxing Rec, have Parker ranked 7th in the world while Ruiz ranks 23rd.
