A recall for nearly 1200 Toyota Prius cars has been issued over concerns they could stall, risking a crash.
The recall is for Prius and Prius V hybrids manufactured between January 23, 2009 and June 30, 2014.
Toyota says the cars are at risk of entering a "failsafe" driving mode which could cause them to lose power and stall at high speeds.
Affected vehicle owners are being contacted by Toyota New Zealand, which says a remedy is being developed.
