Emergency services are responding to a two car crash in Pukekohe, where seven people are injured - one critically.

Fire and Emergency NZ confirm the accident happened at the intersection of Gun Club and Schlaepfer Roads.

St John were called to the incident at 11.25am.

Two fire appliances are in attendance, and three ambulances and a rescue helicopter are on their way.

One patient is in a critical condition, five are in a serious condition, and one is in a moderate condition.
