
The mother of a missing boy in KaikÅura has said the family is growing increasingly concerned after he went fishing yesterday and hasnât been seen since.Â
A district-wide search for 11-year-old Jackson is under way, police confirmed this morning, and are appealing to the public to come forward with any sightings or information.Â
Jackson was last seen on Beach Rd around 1.30pm yesterday, police say.Â
He was wearing a green camouflage fleece, short sleeve T-shirt, and purple knee-length shorts.Â
Jackon was last seen on Beach Rd around 1.30pm on Sunday, a police spokesperson said.Â
Jacksonâs mother, Juanita, told NZME this morning that her son had ânever done this beforeâ and that disappearing was ânot something he would doâ.Â
âHe has no food, no shoes etc. We are all so worried,â the concerned mum said.Â
âHeâs a very smart child when it comes to the outdoors. Itâs very scary because he hasnât done anything like this ever. Me and his dad are extremely worried.âÂ
She confirmed there was still no update on her childâs whereabouts and the search was continuing.Â
âWe [are] still looking everywhere for him.âÂ
