A group of media firms have failed to scare Global Mode into closure.
Global Mode allows internet users to circumvent artificial barriers to view overseas content.
Lawyers for TVNZ, MediaWorks, Sky and Spark had given Bypass Network Services, which operates Global Mode, until 5pm today to 'cease and desist'.
But Bypass co-founder Matthew Jackson is standing strong.
"We cannot be threatened with very vague letters from a lawyer trying to shut down our business."
Matthew Jackson is disappointed the media companies are choosing litigation, rather than having a conversation.
