Decision in Lecretia Seales case to be released tomorrow

The family of terminally ill Wellington woman Lecretia Seales say they've received a decision from the High Court in her right to die case.

But they say the judgement won't be made available to the public until tomorrow afternoon.

Lecretia Seales is asking the High Court for a declaratory judgment, which would ensure her GP won't face charges if and when, she assists her to die.

Her legal team will argue a ban on helping a person to die breaches the fundamental human right to liberty and personal autonomy.

Ms Seales was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour in 2011, when she was just 37.

She's a respected public law specialist, and has worked for Chen Palmer and the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.
