A controversial Maori advisory group says Auckland Council isn't delivering on Maori projects its promised.

The Independent Maori Statutory Board has commissioned a KPMG audit into where the money allocated for Maori spending's been going.

The Board says the Council overstated claims of Maori spending in the first quarter of last year by about $200,000.

It says all up, just over $900,000 was spent last year, from their budget of almost $4 million.
