An inquest is set to be held in Invercargill today, looking at the death of a man who died while clearing a slip at the Homer Tunnel.

The hearing before Coroner David Crerar will be looking at the death of 67-year-old Dunedin man Graham Brown.

He was working as a driller for Downer when he was hit by an air compression hose and died.

Six witnesses are set to give evidence over the day long inquest.

They include representatives from Downer, an inspector from WorkSafe New Zealand and police.
