The Hawke's Bay Regional Council has approved extra funding for the Ruataniwha Water Storage Scheme.
It's allowing its investment company approval to borrow up to two million dollars so it can continue to investigate the scheme.
Ongoing delays in the consenting process has meant the company has been unable to finalise overriding conditions which will ultimately determine whether or not the scheme will go ahead.
