Praise for Nigella Lawson is rolling out thick and fast at her book signings.

The Brit's here to launch her latest book - Simply Nigella - and has been signing copies at Newmarket Paper Plus.

Jaden from Ellerslie is there and admits he's a big fan.

"I think she's really fantastic, the fact that she doesn't brand herself as a chef, she's sort of for the people. I think that's a great thing."

Katy Anne Topping Topping said she's been a huge fan since she was young.

"Because I was such a big fan, my mum was actually jealous of her. She thought I'd rather have Nigella as a mum than her, so I'm going to ask her for a hug."

However, it wasn't a case of being lucky in love for one Nigella fan.

Ben met her and thought he'd try his luck.

"I just asked her on a date, you know, and she said later," he said laughing. "So maybe tonight, maybe tonight."
