Emergency Services are responding to a single-vehicle crash near Summit Road in Christchurch.

One person has died at the scene.

Police were called to the incident at around 11.30 this morning.

Motorists are asked to avoid the Summit Road area.

Earlier this morning, a person was found dead inside a vehicle in West Auckland.

Police are at the scene on Scenic Drive in Titirangi after a vehicle was reported down a bank.

The Serious Crash Unit attended the scene, with the cordons expected to remain in place for several hours.
