State Highway eight has reopened following a fatal crash this morning.
The collision, between Pleasant Point and Timaru, claimed the life of a tractor driver.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are looking to speak to anyone who saw the tractor heading towards Timaru between 7am and 8am.
