A person has died after being hit by a truck in the Bay of Plenty.
The incident occurred on State Highway 29A in Tauranga at 4.40am this morning.
There are cordons in place at Maungatapu Bridge, and at the State Highway 29A/Maungatapu/Welcome Bay roundabout.
Southbound lanes remain open but motorists are asked to take care in the area and follow the directions of officers at the scene.
