Sexual violence workers are warning news of Peter Ellis's death won't be easy for all to hear.
The 61-year-old died yesterday, two months before his Supreme Court appeal against his conviction for child sex offences.
National Network for Ending Sexual Violence Together spokesperson,Kathryn McPhillips says they understand many will be sad at Ellis' death.
But she's concerned.
"All of these events to do with him which are in the media cause further pain and distress for people who are victims of, and probably for people who are victims for other people, so were sexually abused as children."
She says most media reports presume his innocence.
"That's been very hard for people who were hurt by him, and it;'s hard for us to understand why there's not a balanced look at this, given the justice responses to this case over many years."
