A second man is facing charges over the assault of two teenagers on an Auckland train.

The Tauranga man, 35, has been charged with assault with intent to injure in relation to the incident on August 12.

The two teen victims were travelling from Britomart to Avondale when five men, dressed in Four Square costumes, attacked the teens. The men are believed to have been travelling to the Auckland Darts Masters competition at the Trusts Arena in Henderson.

Police said it was a "completely unprovoked attack."

A second man, 31, is already facing charges in relation to the train incident. He was charged with indecent exposure.

Footage captured of the incident was broadcast on social media.

The mother of one of the teens said her daughter and male friend were travelling home on the train when they were confronted by five drunk men wearing Four Square costumes and masks.

"The kids were on the train near them and one of the men started walking around and telling my daughter to put her hand in his pouch, because he was wearing an apron.

""He then got his d*** out and exposed himself to her," she said.
